Mental Health; Traumas and Triggers

  • We at My Friend Kate T/a Wala Truscott are dedicated to upholding the psychological wellbeing of our clients. Whilst you are not under obligation to do so, we would strongly encourage you to let us know about any mental illness and/or medical conditions from which you may suffer.

  • Sexual and erotic pleasures, though in and of themselves positive, may trigger the memory and feelings of previous trauma that you and/or your partner(s) may have experienced in association with sexual activity. Such triggers, which are negative in effect, need to be acknowledged as real, taken seriously and validated. However, it may not be possible, within the workshops, to delve into the cause of the feelings and ongoing effect of those triggers. Professional help should be sought should you, and/or your partner(s) have experienced such trauma and the resultant triggers. A comprehensive list of sexual health professionals is posted on our website for your personal information and use. Of course, consultation of any of these professionals is entirely at your discretion.

  • Our services are professional, offered in good faith, with specific skills, to assist participants in their learning about themselves and the dynamics of human intimacy and attraction. However, we cannot guarantee any particular outcomes for participants, whose sole responsibility it is to put into practice what has been learned and to follow up with further courses or reading etc. as deemed appropriate or necessary.
